architect as civil agent
listlab - italia

This book collects the proceeding of the Architect as Civil Agent lecture series organized by i2a - international institute of architecture and MARCH - Moscow Architecture School, with the support of the Swiss Made in Russia program by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. Russia’s cultural scene has become a focal point for various Swiss cultural practitioners, having developed rapidly over the past few years. With Swiss Made in Russia program, Pro Helvetia has been acting on this new-found interest: indeed, the Swiss Arts Council aimed at fortifying and extending cultural ties between Switzerland and Russia. In this framework, a lecture series dedicated to the architectural practice as the civil action in Switzerland is not only meant to show techniques and methodologies of civil action, it is also meant to show the internal complexity and contradictions of the country. It is the possibility of a reflection on national identity, especially when the lecture series is held culturally and spatially abroad, i.e. in Russia. This book hosts texts by Nicola Regusci (XNF arquitectos), Christophe Gnaegi (Tribu architectes), Andreas Sonderegger (pool architekten), Nikita Tokarev (MARCH).
