artificial climate
independent tagboat art fes, tokyo - japan

Artificial Climate is a photographic series part of Untitled Climates, the project that investigates climate as the critical point of view on the landscape at the time of globalization. In particular, this series delves into the environment of the swimming pool as the artificial climate par-excellence. On the occasion of the exhibition of Artificial Climate at the Independent Tagboat Art Fes 2017, an architectural installation was devised as part of the artwork. Indeed, following the attempt to study and reproduce the very atmospheric nature of the climate -i.e. to portray the visual character of the air- the pictures were experimentally printed on sheer fabric and suspended into a white environment so as to let images interplay with the shadows of their own materiality.
