the pavilion of the void, solid, and everything else
lujiazui green bank public art festival 2016, shanghai - china

Coexistence is a matter of sharing space. In other words, it is the possibility to interact and the possibility to distance from each other, both to occupy and to free space. Coexistence thus demands and architecture that both subdivides and protects the continuity of space, an architecture that is both present and absent. The project aims at expressing this condition by the vertical stacking of multiple bamboo elements, that start in four separate corners and grow up into a unique structure, so as to create a built mass, and to dissolve this basic construction into multiple voids variously interlinked.
